Freezin' For A Reason - Elizabeth Roy Benefit - December 1st, 2012

On December 1st there was a benefit/fundraiser held for a good friend of mine, Derrick Roy's daughter, Elizabeth.  The event went from 4pm Saturday until 2am!  It was all to help raise money for Elizabeth who has been fighting for her life since the day she was born.  Her story is on the flyer below.  I helped Derrick and others setup for the event and then stuck around and hung around with family and friends and took some pictures while having a good time and supporting this great cause.

There was a HUGE crowd all night long at the event.  I am so glad that everyone came out and supported Elizabeth and her family.

I took a lot of pictures, so instead of sharing each individual picture on here I decided to make a slideshow of them all.  Enjoy!

Tis The Season!

Last week my grandma put her Christmas tree up and put out decorations all around her house...I grabbed my camera and took a few shots to start off the holiday season!  There will defiantly be some more coming! :)

Just Drivin' Around . . .

Sadly it is getting colder here in Central, Illinois and Fall is coming to an end...I went on another drive a few nights ago and took some pictures of the beautiful sunset that we had.  I also got some of the leaves that have all fallen to the ground and even one of the moon!

I even played around with Photoshop a little and added some texture to this photo! :) 

Ryan Ideus & The Feudin' Hillbillys - Rosebowl Homecoming 2012

Ryan Ideus and The Feudin' Hillbillys had their "Homecoming" Show at the Rosebowl in Urbana a few weeks ago. Ryan and Derrick first started playing there on Wednesday Nights 8 years ago. They eventually evolved into the band they are today, drawing huge crowds where ever they go.

I was able to go to the Rosebowl with the band and take some pictures and video of the show...Check it out and let me know what you think!

Photography Class

This semester I am taking a photography class at my school.  We work with film cameras and learned how to manually control the settings to produce a great looking photo.  Learning the f/stops and shutter speeds and how to work with them both at the same time to produce a great photo.  We have also learned how to develop the film in the dark room and then create a final print on photo paper.

Learning the f/stops and shutter speeds has helped me to learn how to control these settings on my New Camera - The Canon Rebel T3i...

I took these photos for our assignment in class, developed the film, made a final print and then scanned them onto the computer...

This photo was taken during our "Park Shoot" assignment.  We went to a park right across the street from the high school and took some pictures.  This one is my favorite.  I really like how some of the leaves really stand out and others are blurred in the background.

This photo was from our HTH (Headlights, Taillights, and Hubcaps) assignment.  I have not finished creating prints for all of the pictures on my film, but so far this one is my favorite from this shoot.

Mini-PhotoShoot: Maya Chavez

A couple weeks ago was one of my best friends birthday!  She decided that she would like me to take some pictures of her for her birthday present!  So that's what I did.  We went to two different locations - Crystal Lake Park and another location on Campus.  I had a lot of fun doing this shoot and I hope that Maya did too!

Fall is coming to an end...

Sadly, Fall is coming to an end and Winter is just right around the corner...I went out the other day to capture a few pictures of the leaves and scenery around Urbana, IL.  It was really nice to just drive and take some pretty awesome pictures!

Ryan Ideus & The Feudin' Hillbillys - Gifford Community Building

A couple weeks ago I traveled with The Feudin' Hillbillys to Gifford, IL to help setup before the show and to do pictures and videos during the show!  I had a great time hanging with the band, and got some awesome shots too!  There was a great crowed at the show and they had ton's of energy out on the dance floor!
